A slightly different position to yesterdays painting... the red house on the Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal, a water canal in Berlin.

The red House

Next to the canal with the unpronounceable name is a big red house. It is impressive and haunting at the same time. It looks more to me like a big ship, that is stranded. I do not know what this building was used for, now it is empty, probably waiting to be converted into trendy apartments generally known as loft living. Sometimes, when the water is more quiet you can see an exact reflection of the whole house in the water.

Neben dem Kanal steht ein großes rotes Haus. Es ist beeindruckend und gleichzeitig unheimlich. Es wirkt für mich eher wie ein großes Schiff das gestrandet ist. Ich weiss nicht wofür dieses Haus genutzt wurde, jetzt ist es leer und wartet wahrscheinlich darauf als trendy, loft living Apartment Haus umgebaut zu werden. Manchmal, wenn das Wasser besonders ruhig ist, kann man die Spiegelung des gesamten Hauses im Wasser sehen.

Reflections on the canal

First an apologise to my dear subscribers. My blog seems to have a hiccup today, suddenly a post appeared twice, a painting that was sold became suddenly available again without my doing, and every time I tried to change it.... well, you got a new mail, sorry about that.... the painting Hard Labour is sold, even if it is stated otherwise on my blog... must be the hot weather.

Todays painting - hard to believe that this is a scene in a busy city, but it is along the canal I described already yesterday the Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal ( try to say that backwards when you had a pint )...

Als erstes muss ich mich bei meinen geschätzten Abonennten entschuldigen. Mein blog scheint heute einen "Schluckauf" zu haben, plötzlich erscheint ein posting doppelt, ein Bild das verkauft ist, war ohne mein Zutun auf einmal wieder erhältlich und jedesmal wenn ich das ändern wollte ... naja, da bekamen Sie jedesmal eine email, es tut mir sehr leid, entschuldigen Sie bitte. Das Bild Hard Labour ist verkauft, selbst wenn auf dem blog etwas anderes steht .... vielleicht liegt es ja am wieder sehr heissen Wetter.

Zum heutigen Bild - schwer zu glauben daß diese Szene in einer so hektischen Stadt zu finden ist, doch auch dieses Motiv stammt von dem Kanal, den ich gestern schon beschrieb, dem Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal (versuchen Sie das mal rückwärts auszusprechen, vor allem nach ein oder zwei Bierchen) .....
