A little wonder

I still remember when I was 9 or 10 years of age, a friend showed me how to make light in a cardboard box with the help of a small bicycle light-bulb and a battery. I was completely transfixed with this little wonder happening there, suddenly that box started to be alive, shadows, shapes, my imagination was running wild. I still feel this wonder, when I see these small areas of light transforming a known world into something new, something where dreams start to take over, all with the help of a simple small light bulb.

Ich erinnere mich noch genau, ich war vielleicht neun oder zehn Jahre alt, als mir ein Freund zeigte, wie man mit Hilfe einer Taschenlampenglühbirne und einer Batterie Licht in einem Karton erzeugen kann. Ich war absolut fasziniert von dem kleinen Wunder das dort geschah, plötzlich erwachte diese Box zum Leben, in ihr waren Schatten, Formen, meine Phantasie spielte verrückt. Ich fühle immer noch diese Begeisterung wenn ich sehe, wie kleine Lichtquellen eine mir bekannte Welt in etwas komplett neues verwandeln können, worin Träume anfangen die Realität zu übernehmen, alles mit Hilfe einer kleinen Glühbirne.
