The golden boulevard

It is this time of the year, when the sun goes down in the evening, this city is cast in a coat of golden light, the ugly and the beautiful alike, the poor and the rich, everyone and everything is seen in this golden light. This beauty is nearly impossible to paint ( for me ) so todays painting is only a very weak image of what really is out there, at that particular magic time, the golden hour.

Es ist zu dieser Jahreszeit jetzt, daß, wenn die Sonne untergeht am Abend, diese Stadt in einen Mantel aus goldenem Licht getaucht ist, die Hässlichen wie die Schönen, die Armen und die Reichen, jeder und alles ist in dieses goldene Licht gehüllt. Diese Schönheit ist fast unmöglich zu malen (für mich jedenfalls) daher ist das heutige Bild nur ein schwacher Eindruck dessen was sich da draussen abspielt, zu dieser besonderen magischen Tageszeit, zur goldenen Stunde.
